A note from BuildASoil
Over the last 13+ years, we've grown into a much better company — and a lot of that growth came directly from our critical reviews. Every 1, 2, or 3-star review on this page taught us something. New formulations, better packaging, improved shipping, clearer instructions, stronger customer support — almost all of it traces back to a customer who took the time to tell us what wasn't working.
If you haven't tried BuildASoil in a while — or you tried us early on and it didn't go great — we'd genuinely love another shot. We get better every year, and we have the receipts to prove it. See what's new at buildasoil.com →
I’ve had a bag of this before with no problem. This time all I can say is these seeds look like junk and they maybe sprout 1%. I’ve tried 5 different times and different methods. Just junk seeds. I sent them an email few days ago. Have not heard back.
It works great but like I said my wand came kinked. I fixed it with my soldering gun was hoping maybe to get another one but if anything no worries like I said it works for now so far so good with all the soil built. Products that I have purchased can’t wait to see the results for this year and next year
Homeboy refuses to answer just a few lousy followup questions. This interpretation presented way more questions than answers. He won't answer questions via email and will only talk to me via phone for an additional $75. Buildasoil won't help me either. Very disappointing.
Hey, I's reading the reviews, and did my learnin' abouts making a gooder soil fo's my veggie garden.
So I's bought this.
It do be comin' here fast, and not all's broken bad like somes packages. So, cool.
But whens I goes to use it, it be all funky massive chunks. I figgur 2# for my 6 yds of garden dirts I's needin'.
But I hads to spend a hours breakin' its down using rocks. Had no other ways - it not be breaking up in my hands.
So's I got in touch with the dudes here. Theys tried to help, but when I shows them a piccure of the chunks and how I's be disappointed, they's wanted me to buys more stuff from them, at a measly discount.
Ands they's be tellin' me, "We actually have to break it down more when it comes from our supplier."
Well, they's be doin' a piss poor job at it.
I doubts theys even posts this review after seein' it. Thoughs I nots be swearin' or anythin' else bads.
I asked thems nicely for, what I's think is fairs compensation.
But they's ignored me.
Here be a photo of the chunks, bain't.
You gonna put this inna you's container plants? Goods luck.
Never buyin' from these dudes again. Can't be trustin' them.
P.S. - Why's there be no other bad reviews on their's entire site?
First off, so sorry this didn't live up to your expectations. We will be updating the website with better photos and description. Terviva is a great company producing a really clean sustainable product but it is a chunky seed meal. For what it's worth, we use it chunky in our soil recipes and it does turn into a good final product. That being said, I totally understand your not wanting to use something so chunky. What can we do to make this right? I want you to be happy regardless.

Arrived dried out, no live worms, and light brown in color.
This is the least effective product I have used on powdery mildew. It does not stop or defeat it at all. Even at the maximum recommended dosage and following aggressive ipm protocol this product is simply ineffective.
Thanks for the feedback, this is what we are after. We are finding that the Terpene content is so high it's not holding in NANO emulsion. That being said, we have been getting reports that using 6-12ml per gallon is proving effective. We do believe it works but we have to find the best dosage and stability. Can you try again at increased dosage and report back? Either way, let us know and we can make it right, support.buildasoil.com and create a support ticket.

Can someone tell me why this is better than yucca extract powder at over 3x the price? Please keep waisting your money thinking this is a magical ingredient that makes you a better grower. Cult level vibes for newb custies.
ThermX70 is 20% saponins and this product is cleaner and has over 60% saponins. We pay a premium and have difficulty getting enough at the quality level we demand. It’s so clean that you can use it for food and also for medication etc. which makes it killer for foliars. I still like the ThermX70 and if you choose to use that product it will do it’s job well. I tell everyone all the time, all you really need is good genetics, good environment, good soil and clean water. Thanks for your business and sorry this one didn’t work for you.

was very expensive for such a small bag i rather make my own next time
I worked in the Cannabis industry as an IPM technician. My supervisor ordered two of these to keep Foliar sprays and oil sprays separate from our DRAMM hydra. A month in of careful use about 5 times a week and these are already breaking down. It’s very clear from the beginning that these were never tested in the field. The suction hose inside the tank is too long and halfway through a tank, will float on top of the liquid and pull air through. I had to tie the hose like a pretzel to get the end to stay on the bottom and it still leaves about a gallon of fluid in the tank at the end that can’t be sucked through. The drain is leaking on one of the tanks even with Teflon tape applied. If you tighten the plastic cap too far, it will pop off the threads and you have to retighten and have to try and find the sweet spot, which it will still leak. Whoever designed the handle to the cart, is not bright. It’s an open triangle shape and when you are wrapping up why hose, it can get wrapped up in the handle which adds to the frustration if you work in tight spaces indoors like I do. The spray gun is junk. One of the guns doesn’t automatically shutoff when you release the handle and you have the push it forward every time yourself to shut off the spray. The other gun will actually stay spraying even when fully pushed forward in the off position and just randomly shuts off when it feels.
For what we paid for these sprayers you would expect a much better performance and not have to make modifications straight out of the box to get these to work as they should.
We also have a 50 gal DRAMM hydra which after using these is an absolute dream to use. The gro-kings have been an absolute nightmare and I complain to my supervisor every day that I have to use them. They regret the purchases and are basically using them because the money was already spent and we’ll use them until they break completely, which they are well on their way already.
I wouldn’t pay any amount of money on these for my personal gardening and especially not for a greenhouse operation. Heed the warning and use your well earned money to purchase a higher quality product that is actually going to last.

This trellis should really have a warning in the description to not use for cannabis. Thousands of loose strands of fiber blew all over the room when I took it out of the bag, decided against using it at all as these loose fiber strands are visible all over the trellis and clearly would have ended up getting stuck all over my medicine once it started producing trichomes. This trellis would be great for edible veggies or any sort of ornamental, but for medicinal flower you’ll want to avoid this.
The sprayer is heavy duty and does an awesome job in the garden. And if I used it for its intended purpose in concrete i would give it 5 stars. I’ve had it for like two years now
The paint is flaking away and the steel is starting to rust. Buy the stainless steel version I wish it was available when I was in the market for one

I had to give the fan extra support to make sure it stayed where I wanted it. I put zip ties as a stop on the pole because it wants to slide down otherwise. It slid down first and got bound up trying to oscillate. The motor overheated and I thought it was gone. It eventually came back on but it’s noisy now and I’m not confident it’ll last long. If the clip would’ve held and avoided the little accident, I would’ve rated a 3 or 4. Decent little oscillator
I purchased a grow king sprayer. The pump fried because the electrical contacts are exposed to all the moisture you are spraying. Then the super fancy stainless steel spray gun, that justifies this crazy asking price, snapped down the center of the steel housing. Save yourself alot of headache and money and purchase a paint sprayer for $300.00. That outperforms this lemon!
Love this product... but... after learning what they did to not only BuildASoil but other growers made me want to never support the product again. Ill use up what I have obviously (I'm no dummy) and use another product, one that supports BuildASoil also.
I might support them again, but they would have to do something amazing to make up for what they did. Just sayin...
I planted the cover crop seeds by shallow raking them in to the raised beds and watering regularly. So far, three weeks later all I've gotten is a couple of crabgrass weeds. I'm very disappointed and obviously won't be ordering again. Perhaps the seed was old?
This is all Germ tested, high quality and fresh because of how much volume we go through. While I've never had issues in garden containers using mulch it can be very challenging to get cover crop to pop when broadcasting and shallow raking. Many times you need more water than you think. We would be happy to help in the future but I'm fairly sure it wasn't the seeds. I hope that helps! Pelletized seeds can take a bit more water to pop.

This HF 23 strain is rated only for houseflies and should not be sold as a soil amendment as it does not take care of any significant cannabis pests.
Thanks for the Review!! There was a publishing error on our label from our manufacturer and HF23 was the original used years ago to start the innoculations on plants that then generated the newer plant isolated versions of Beauveria. The Product we offer is NOT HF23 and is a blend of Isolated BB from bean plants and that's why it works so well. I promise this is an effective product for the plants and soil and not for the house fly.
