Not sure why, but this stuff causes a great amount of micorrizia to form, or possibly it is fungal. But the plants love it. So far when top dressing and digging it in an inch or so it hasn't caused any burn problems. Top dressed my cucumbers and they greened right up. They are in an earth box and are running out again so I will be adding more. Along with some of the ProMix.

I’ve been using the mustard seed for about 2 1/2 to 3 years now both indoor and outdoor I haven’t gotten any unwanted bugs so I assume it’s doing its job and I’ll take anything that will help against unwanted pests.

Not only did I used it with my indoor plants but I used it in my two orchards as well. First my lower orchard with seemingly great response and then next my upper orchard. Could be a coincidence but I’ve noticed less pest issue and more green healthy growth. Just even intuitively something about this product feels powerful. I was hoping to get a repelling effect towards animals like voles, rabbits, and javalina it’s still too early to tell though for sure though.
I’d recommend.

Good stuff. Pair it with the other product Build a Soil sells and you'll never have gnats.
But the MSM works well alone. Adds a positive soil enhancement also.

I'm completely satisfied with this product. It arrived quickly. The packaging is excellent and insures the powder stays dry. I spoke with Zack over the phone because I had questions and he was very good to answer everything. I feel that BuildASoil is a good company with great customer service.

Work fantastic help fumigate the soil in the defense of fungus gnats great product

Jeremy hooked me on this stuff when he was piling it up in the 10x10(go check out the youtube series). Lol I drop some on pre-topdress, then topdress, and then work some into the topdress as well. I do this pre-flower and there's not a gnat to be seen in the growroom. I've went a little hard before and the plants have pushed right through

Excellent quality. Very good slow release fertilizer for plants, especially Dhalias. I use it as liquid fertilizer. 1 cup Mustard meal, 1 cup Peanut meal, 1/2 cup Neem meal, add to 2 gallons of water. Ferment it for 4 days. Stir it once a day. Add it to 50 gallons of water. Apply every 3 to 4 weeks.
I love this review!! Thank you for the beautiful photos and recipe to go with

Work pretty good getting rid of my small fly/gnat situation. Have two Earth boxes, pulled my last crop at the beginning of May this year and put the planters with covers still on out to the back porch. I kept them slightly watered just for all the life in the soil. I brought them in a couple weeks ago to get another indoor round and noticed the infestation. Nearly wiped them out in about a week and a half with a couple applications.

Haven't even used it yet but I already know. Best part is knowing as I've watched Jeremy use all these products.

Much better than mustard seed meal cake I have found elsewhere

I like the mustard seed meal; it's certainly very bioactive, which gets everything going. I did notice a little tip burn as the feeder roots dug into it, but nothing crazy. As for the fungus gnats, which is what I bought it for, I'm not sure it did much. More experimentation is needed. I hit a couple of plants heavy like this one and have still seen gnats.
I'll play around a little more. No ill effects and the mustard made the soil super alive. Wish I saw better improvement with the gnats, but that could just be me dialing it in, or it only killing any new larva, which means improvement is coming shortly.
All in all, I'd buy it again.

Love the product! Use caution-it is hot!
Texture and moisture level are perfect. Packaging is excellent heavy bag with liner bag for long term storage.

If you want to spread some in your soil as pest management it works but dont let the mustard seed meal touch the stalk of your vegetables it will kill them. The mycelium that eat the mustard will also start eating any plant material that is touching the seed meal.

Great product for re-amending soil and getting rid of pests. 5/5 will buy again.

This stuff was great and worked just as planned. Knocked those fungus bats out in no time!! Build a Soil knocked it out of the park on this product!
Jeremy
I used this in combination with nematodes and one, the other or both worked to get rid of them. I also added it to my reammend with the cover crop and the cover had no issues growing when sown at the same time as mustard application

Isn't working the way I'd hoped it would.

Strong enough to lower down the fungus gnats!!

Did the job put it on top of my cover crop I chopped up almost all gone into the soul

Works great. Knocks back the gnats. Pungent eye watering but enjoyable smell for a day or two. Go easy at first. More sensitive plants can throw a bit of a fit for a while.

This has seem to have gotten rid of those pesky stinking gnats. I sprinkled a generous amount around all my plants plus all my wife’s house plants. Buildasoil prouducts have never let me down 100% satisfaction.

Purchased primarily for fungus gnat issues. Noticeable decrease a few days after application.

Potent stuff! I had a fungus gnat population explosion during flower. I was hesitant to use so started slow with 2 tbsp per 10 gallon fabric pot. 90% of fungus gnats were eliminated after one top dress. I was able to control the rest with Dr. Zymes and yellow sticky traps. I will incorporate into each reammend moving forward.

It really works great for battling the fungus gnats just use some caution as finicky plants can get leaf burn as well as young clones and seedlings. Plus it really does something to get the soil going.

Will be applying to my garden this year. Transaction was great from start to finish with plenty of updates from the company. Thank you! Ron

I had a some fungus gnats show up when I was starting my new 20 gallons. I chopped the cover crop and covered the pot. The next day I uncovered the pots and liberally spread some Mustard Seeds across the top and wet the soil to activate the mustard seeds. Two days later, worked great! Gnats are gone and a wonderful sea of Mycelium across the top of the beds...
Great stuff to have in your tool box!

I bought this to combat a fungus gnat problem and it worked really well. I’m sure it has lots of other benefits and I look forward to learning what they are.

This stuff blooms like NONE OTHER. Bio fumigates the soil if you have any underlying issue, provides nutrition AND explodes microbe population.
What more could you want for in between runs?

Had a pot with some pepper plants in and noticed a pretty significant gnat population living in the mulch layer. Probably spread about a full cup in this 5 gallon and I no longer have a gnat problem. No negative reaction from peppers.

Used about a cup per 15 gallons then watered it in left my soul there for two weeks and everything was good. It didn’t knock all my gnat population but it reduced at least 90% of it.

This is the perfect addition to my beds. What an incredible amount of growth. It mycelliated and bloomed trichoderma and others in the first few days and then really took off
Eric W.
It doing the trick for the fungus gnats!!!

Recently I had a bad infestation of Gnats, my grow is in 5 gallon fiber pots with living soil and the plants are in flower so I did not want to spray. I top feed a 1/2 cup of the mustard seed to each pot and within 12 hours the gnats are gone. Only time will tell if the gnats are gone but be aware the mustard smell is strong so it is advise to have a exhaust filter.
