Bought some from my local grow store, 10lbs. Lots of chunks, hard stuff that looks like rocks. Several different colors of hard pieces. Pieces of alfalfa the size of large peas. Never used before, is this normal? Should I do something to break it up? Seems like that would be frustrating... Thanks in advance for your insight! DH.

Opened the bag to do a soil re-amend, dipped my measuring cup in and hit something hard and unable to scoop anything out. Opened the bag completely and pulled out a grey colored chunk the size of a mango, dumped the bag and found 2 more mango chunks and many smaller chunks. I called customer service and was told to use a hammer to break it up, that didn't work very well so I added 2 gallons of water to the chunks to reveal reddish brown chunks, I guess this was the Karanja cake, after 24 hours in the water it did break up easier, I'll let it dry for a week and add back to the mix... so not great..

That's awful! I'm sorry this happened to you. Sometimes the oils in the karanja meal can cause clumping. We are looking into a hammermill and other machinery that might help eliminate this completely. In the meantime if this is still an issue please don't hesitate to reach back out for a replacement.
