This stuff is amazing at helping the top of the soil from drying out. On top of that it’s alive and if you’re lucky you can grow oyster mushrooms in the shade.

Doing well clover crop growing through all the pots and in the 70 gallon. It's.
Beautiful.

So I just received this log Monday the 4th of November. And I opened it to use on my 25 gallon pots, 4 pots total. And I was overwhelmed by the sweetness of the fungi growing in the bag. It was so sweet, my Wife came in to ask what I was doing, and she said it smells so wonderful.
Thanks for a great product, I can't wait to see the results of the Mulch...

This is my third log of blue oyster mushroom straw. That tells you how much I love it! I have it outside in my vegetable gardens, and inside in my cannabis. With this latest log I will actually grow mushrooms, then use the mulch in my garden. Thanks, Jeremy for all your videos and sharing your knowledge.

I have been using this Blue Oyster Mushroom straw for many of my grows. Such a great choice or option. Not only for my living soil cannabis grows but it will be growing on my veggie grows I am starting.

Great addition to any grow bed or pots. Didn’t get any blue oysters but love that it comes sterilized so no need to stress about any unwanted seeds sprouting.

I use this as a mulch layer for my living soil bed. BuildaSoil has great products I am very happy with them.

I never got the opportunity to get this stuff back in the day before the vendor change. When they changed, there was some who were not happy with the size and quality of this product. I can say that now, in October or 2023, this stuff is great! The bag was full, it was in great condition, and it was gorgeous when I finally laid it out on the bed. Thanks Jeremy!

Was sold on mulch seeing the results in the outdoor veg garden. This looked perfect for the indoor setup. It definitely does the job. Surprisingly pleasant odor as well

Super product and grow mushrooms!

Too soon to notice the benefits but very happy with the living mulch. The mycelium was healthy and the straw clean with no issues with hay seed. The bag was more than enough for 8 (5 gallon containers) and 3 (3 gallon) and could easily mulch 11 more pots with remaining mulch. The price was a little higher than I expected and was concerned that I would have buyers remorse. Opposite. Buyers joy.

When it arrived, I set it in the floor. Few days later I was harvesting oyster mushrooms. Then in the bed it performs great as well.

Tried growing mushrooms out the bag before using as much . Do you have to put it in your grow tent or something ? Couldn’t find much info online . Guess it will just be mulch now .

Came moist and fresh. I’m using it for mulch for the first time on Branson’s Royal Revenge. Just put it on.

I love this stuff. Smells amazing, full of so much life, and does a great job of mulching. The first bag I got had a little trichoderma so they replaced it for me with no hassle. Cant thank you enough. Will definitely be buying more.

My goodness the fungi growth on the straw log was abundant! It arrived a few days before my Coot soil bags and was very moist when opened three days later. Very pleased customer!

I wanted to try growing out the mushrooms before using as a mulch. I had many questions and Zach from support answered every one, including non related questions about a worm bin I was setting up. Top notch... Can't wait to see how it turns out.

It’s perfect but for the price I expected more volume inside the bag, enough for a 3x3 bed, my bed it’s 4x4 and looks kind of “bald” , heheheh but it’s very good mulch!!!
Awesome thank you for the positive review. We'll make sure we keep our eye on straw levels in the bag, see if a bit of a volume increase can be possible! Thanks and have a great day

Really impressed with level of fungi. I chopped mine up into smaller pieces to get a thick layer about 2in thick in a 13gal fabric pot. Excellent product full of life.

The Blue oyster mushroom straw log is indeed a premium mulch for nature's living soil beds

Using the living mulch in two ways: as mulch and growing mushrooms for the additional co2. Thank you build-a-soil.

Awesome product! Will only use this for mulch later for now on!

Great product I use it every round. I used to alternate between this and barley straw but this is just so amazing I just use it now.
Alec G.
So full of life. Don’t leave it in the bag too long if you don’t want it to Trichoderma out
Timothy T.
Great organic mulch. I use nectar of the gods to feed my plants. I used to get a crust on bare soil from using herculean harvest bone meal. The mulch helps keep it moist and dark for microbial life to thrive and break down bone meal crust. I now have oyster mushrooms growing in pots as well. I wished I started using it earlier!
ROBERT D.
lots of straw and the mushrooms are great
Joe
Love straw just now trying to see if I can get a flush or two of mushrooms out of it first for the kids to eat
Caleb B.
Looks not colonized at first but give it some air holes and a few days and it’s pillows of white fluffy mycelium
Dev D.
All kinda of mycelial growth. Big old log, very easy to work with. Filled my 3x3 bed, solos and I still have over half the log left.
Chris R.
Smells like cake. Mushrooms sprouting like crazy from log
Marty S.
This is my second purchase of the mushroom straw log. I use it as mulch around the plants. I use it to aide in composting, when I chop my cover crop. And I use it to help maintain moisture in my fabric pots during re-amend. You might even have some fresh mushrooms!

After watching the YouTube episode where you guys visited the facility where this product is made I was sold, I had to give it a try. Currently using product in 3.8gal AutoPot system, definitely keeping my top layer of soil moist
Jared F.
In the process of building a 3x3 bed, so I haven't used this yet, but it looks amazing. It was covered in mycelium when I got it, so I know it will be a great top dress. All of the BuildASoil products I've used are top notch.
Bruce H.
Excellent. What yo do with it when it's done fruiting ? Just break it up and use to mulch your grow .
Neal
The smell is intoxicating, the living fungus reminds me of a damp forest. It mulches well and is an ample for a nice thick layer on three 15 gal fabric pots with plenty left over
Zander D.
This straw is stellar. It smells amazing and is alive with so much life. Keeps the soil moist underneath!
Thomas M.
Pictures speak a thousand words right?

I love it!!! It was filled with mycelium. 2 logs covered the 3 beds. 3’x6’
