Smaller logs than the previous company and more compact, love that you guys continued making them just wish they were the same size and density as before

This stuff is amazing at helping the top of the soil from drying out. On top of that it’s alive and if you’re lucky you can grow oyster mushrooms in the shade.

Doing well clover crop growing through all the pots and in the 70 gallon. It's. Beautiful.

So I just received this log Monday the 4th of November. And I opened it to use on my 25 gallon pots, 4 pots total. And I was overwhelmed by the sweetness of the fungi growing in the bag. It was so sweet, my Wife came in to ask what I was doing, and she said it smells so wonderful. Thanks for a great product, I can't wait to see the results of the Mulch... Erik in Texas.

I followed the directions,poked the holes and nothing happened! I used the straw as a mulch layer and I have a severe case of bugs! I couldn’t recommend this product to anyone!!

This is my third log of blue oyster mushroom straw. That tells you how much I love it! I have it outside in my vegetable gardens, and inside in my cannabis. With this latest log I will actually grow mushrooms, then use the mulch in my garden. Thanks, Jeremy for all your videos and sharing your knowledge.

3 mushrooms. It's awesome mulch, my plants reacted instantly. Shrooms wise, this isn't the way to go.

I’m just getting into living soil and organic. Liking this product so far. A little bit more than I need for my 3 X 3 bed. But just set it to the side til I need more.

Put this under my tomatoes cucumbers squash corn and green beans. It's perfect

This stuff is great absolutely love it, and the plants love it as well. No random weeds in it either which is a nice bonus

Ive purchased the 4 pack about a dozen times over the years. Its not the same as it used to be, 3 logs didnt innoculate for me at all, when i called BAS they told me to call email the manufacturer, which confused me because i thought they made it. The thing is, this isnt the first time. It sucks paying 40 bucks for a bag of wet straw. of the 50-60 logs ive ordered, at least 30% didnt innoculate. Im not a stickler so I kept ordering i figured hey organics nothings perfect, but the last time was the... last straw for me.... (ill see myself out) They are making a KILLING on these and i felt the least they could have done was reship some. (yes i put them in a cool dark closet when they first arrive)

Great product, got a round of mushies and now using for mulch layer. Definitely gonna continue to purchase this for my garden!!

I have been using this Blue Oyster Mushroom straw for many of my grows. Such a great choice or option. Not only for my living soil cannabis grows but it will be growing on my veggie grows I am starting.

Great addition to any grow bed or pots. Didn’t get any blue oysters but love that it comes sterilized so no need to stress about any unwanted seeds sprouting.

I use this as a mulch layer for my living soil bed. BuildaSoil has great products I am very happy with them.

I never got the opportunity to get this stuff back in the day before the vendor change. When they changed, there was some who were not happy with the size and quality of this product. I can say that now, in October or 2023, this stuff is great! The bag was full, it was in great condition, and it was gorgeous when I finally laid it out on the bed. Thanks Jeremy!

Was sold on mulch seeing the results in the outdoor veg garden. This looked perfect for the indoor setup. It definitely does the job. Surprisingly pleasant odor as well

Super product and grow mushrooms!

Too soon to notice the benefits but very happy with the living mulch. The mycelium was healthy and the straw clean with no issues with hay seed. The bag was more than enough for 8 (5 gallon containers) and 3 (3 gallon) and could easily mulch 11 more pots with remaining mulch. The price was a little higher than I expected and was concerned that I would have buyers remorse. Opposite. Buyers joy.

When it arrived, I set it in the floor. Few days later I was harvesting oyster mushrooms. Then in the bed it performs great as well.

Tried growing mushrooms out the bag before using as much . Do you have to put it in your grow tent or something ? Couldn’t find much info online . Guess it will just be mulch now .

Came moist and fresh. I’m using it for mulch for the first time on Branson’s Royal Revenge. Just put it on.

I guess I'm one of the unlucky few who got a bag of wet straw. The amount of material was fine, and if it had fruited it would have been excellent. However, even after several weeks in an environmentally controlled room there was only the faintest hint of white, and eventually slimy green. Whatever, life goes on, just w/o any mushrooms ;-P

I love this stuff. Smells amazing, full of so much life, and does a great job of mulching. The first bag I got had a little trichoderma so they replaced it for me with no hassle. Cant thank you enough. Will definitely be buying more.

My goodness the fungi growth on the straw log was abundant! It arrived a few days before my Coot soil bags and was very moist when opened three days later. Very pleased customer!

Works great very happy with it.

The original ones before BAS started making it themselves were double the size and packed right. Was plenty to cover 6, 45 gallon pots. Now I just put down a new one and it covered 4, but not how I would like them to be covered. I could understand if maybe the mentioned it was less and it was priced accordingly but they are priced more and don’t mention it’s way less. I let the bag sit for 2 weeks and it was barely inoculated, just big balls of saw dust that were inoculated with some straw. Now I gave it 3 stars because it’s still decent mulch, and I need to buy another one in order to complete the job. They should either add way more straw, or make it cheaper though.

I ordered the blue oyster mushroom logs twice. The first time the logs were over two feet long and packed with substrate that grew pounds of blue oyster mushrooms as a bonus before i used it as mulch. So i reordered. The second blue oyster mushroom log order the logs were half the size not packed and did not grow anything at all and did not cover half as much as the first order as mulch. And it was more expensive the second time. So five stars the first time. One star for the second. Not sure if i will order that again and risk getting another order like the second.

I liked the older version of this better when the logs were used and had a ton of mycelium. Now these arrive as wet straw with little to no visible microbial life, which is disappointing. It’s nice to use these right away when you get it rather than having to wait a week or two for colonization, but whatever. It works.

I really enjoy working with this Blue Oyster Mushroom Straw Log. It is a great living mulch and i sometimes see mushrooms in my beds which is always a bonus.

I ordered expecting to grow a round of mushrooms then using the straw as mulch. In the description it said to put 5-10 1" X slits in the bag and you should see mushrooms in a few days, I did 8 X slits and kept it in a dark area with a little ambient light as directed by a BaS rep. I thought I had a dud but after about 3 weeks they finally started growing. Got some delicious mushrooms out of it and now it is mulching my plants beautifully. I just wish it would have been quicker to grow so I took away 1 star.

I wanted to try growing out the mushrooms before using as a mulch. I had many questions and Zach from support answered every one, including non related questions about a worm bin I was setting up. Top notch... Can't wait to see how it turns out.

It’s perfect but for the price I expected more volume inside the bag, enough for a 3x3 bed, my bed it’s 4x4 and looks kind of “bald” , heheheh but it’s very good mulch!!!

Really impressed with level of fungi. I chopped mine up into smaller pieces to get a thick layer about 2in thick in a 13gal fabric pot. Excellent product full of life. Square One Frozen Fuel Running 2-13 gal autopots 2x4x7 cabinet 1 gallon Build a soil light transferred in 13gall of 3.0

Use these bags for live mulch..Usually great but this last order was a bag of wet straw with little to no inoculation.

I just put down on my beds a couple of days ago! It was totally different from the first two purchases over the last couple years! No white stuff! Seemed like less as well! Maybe you could let us know when you change it ! At least I wouldn't have been thrown off by the difference! Other than that I have no collected data for you! At this time I'm going to plant my next round in a few days!
