The 44 lb bag will last a long time. I like using it to help give grit to the worms in my garden. It does have bigger fragments though, which I don't think is a bad thing. I want different particle sizes.

Another of many important ingredients to your soil, add volcanic minerals to the soil, think about all the places great weed grew wild, most of them were in volcanic soil. Basalt is from lava, and that's from volcano's. Now you don't have to wait for nature to break it down over several million years and add it to your soil, compost, and any garden you have.

I mix with Montana grow in soil I make and test. Currently have 1 compound genetics Apples & bananas in 15 gallon sub irrigated wick pot that's week 4 and fills up my 3x5x7 gorilla grow tent. I'm weekly feeding organics alive bloom adding YAWAY @ 60 ml per gallon. Weekly feeding of growing organics beet & carrot or sprouted quinoa ferments. Just chopped a permanent marker and a bubba whip. Now same soil 2nd run growing healthy giants. I'm going to top dress build a flower and Narley barley tomorrow for that top flight shelf insurance.

Fantastic quality basalt rock dust. On par with Gaia Green but for a better price. Ever since i started adding basalt and glacial rock dust to my soils, my plants have been growing bigger, thicker and fuller than they ever have before. Some thanks also goes to Jeremy for helping me figure out what my plants needed through all the educational YouTube videos 🙏👍 SB; I was fighting a mystery deficiency which turned out to be a calcium deficiency. Ever since fixing that with some rock dust and gypsum, things have been smooth like butter.

THE cleanest rock dust I've ever seen on soil tests! All forms of plants, veggies, and flowers seem to really love this basalt. An absolute for any and all succulents,as most delicate plants prefer micro over macro nutrients, plus basalt is similar to the local soil types succulents and cacti are grown in,compared to the peat and coco based medias, that are the furthest thing from a volcano as you can get. Absolutely love B.a.s. basalt, when combined with Montana grow silica,it's a grand slam for houseplants and starts to any garden

Tons of minerals and weight added to the soil has all the micro nutrients and some of the metals that you actually need and are missing from most soils. Perfect balance to be able to light put in your soil slowly Leach the nutrients and stay in your soil for a long long time!

Are you growing in soil or soilless medium? Well, as Jeremy once said in the 10x10 series, it's the addition of copious amounts of rock dust that makes our soil as close as we can get to replicating the natural soil environment. I have azomite but I worry about the heavy metals. So I bought the basalt to use off and on from azomite to help limit the heavy metals. That said it's a bag of crushed rocks, so there's not much to say about it's appearance. However, it has a nice dark rock hue, unlike the azomite I have that is more tan in color.

I grow in 6 gallon fabric pots but I reuse my soil. I store used soil in 30 gallon tubs and re-amend it with various additives including basalt. I then let it cook for a couple of months before reusing. I have some soil than been through this cycle multiple times and this is where the basalt really shines. Once added it's persistent and doesn't need to be used again.

As with all the BuildASoil products I've purchased it came properly packaged for transport and for storage of extra product. The semi-moist crushed Basalt was seemingly clean and void of non-Basalt media also.
