Neem and Karanja Mixed 50/50 Reviews

So far I really like this product.

I always had a moderate amount of gnats shortly after planting the seedings into their homes. Then I started using less than 1/4 cup of these pellets on the bottom of the (fabric, 5 gal) pots before adding the soil, then less than 1/4 cup mixed into the top 1-2" of topsoil. The gnat population after starting to use this was down to a few (there would be 2-3 gnats on each sticky catcher per week with 3 pots per tent). I could use more pellets but instead, I started using WDG3000, watered into the soil about 1 week after the seedlings are transplanted, then again 1 week later and NO MORE gnats! NONE! But now my African Violets and aloe vera are getting a few gnats so I'm going to add a few pellets to the top of each of those pots! That should stop those gnats too! I almost didn't buy more of the neem/karanja pellets when I ran out this time since I started using WDG3000, but just bought another bag because I'm afraid to screw up a good thing!

I used neem alone in the past, i am very anxious to use this 50/50 mix

This will always be in the mix when I'm mixing up some new soil. It doesn't take much, and it lasts a while, so it is very economical to use. Along with WDG3000, I've had no noticeable issues. BTW, the bag will be about to pop because they obviously stuff it as full as possible.

This mix seemingly really helped my plants and soil.

Great for nutrients as well as aiding in pest management

My neighbor and I have a vegetable garden.There was something in the soil that would cause the cucumbers to turn brown and die. I mixed the neem and karanja with the soil on my side and my cucumbers are doing just fine this year.

I just started using this I’ve used neem meal in the past. But the results with this have been amazing! I sprinkle it on the top soil and water with Em1 or something similar

Easily mix into my soil. Gave it three weeks to break down before I planted and the color of my plants were deeper green than I have seen before. And no pest. I am on my third run using Buildasoil products and my results are better and better.

Seemed to help with insect population.. everyone says it smells bad, but I like the smell.. just sucks you have to grind/crush it but not the end of the world.

I love neem, but boy does it stank! This product helps mitigate that by cutting it 1:1 with karanja, which is just as effective.

Great product to build your own soil

This is another 1 of my 9 ingredients that i use in my living soil. Have been ordering this product from BAS since 2019 and it is a great product. I also use it in my worm compost, top dress in Veg and it works great. Even if I didn't go the custom blend organic route i would incorporate this into my soil. Thanks BAS for all the great products and service over the years!!

I’ve ordered this a few times because it’s a great product and be used in several ways. This time is came in pellets, which is fine.

I'm trying this product for the first time. Mixed it into the soil and will wait a couple of weeks before planting. Will report on results.

I'm new at using this I have been cautious on how much to us in my garden, and how often. I tried to read up on it..I ordered 50 lbs. I read later i think it expires so that was probably a mistake. I was thinking this will last awhile. A little seems to go along ways. I wish there were more clear precise instructions how much to use and how often. I'd really like to have alot more info on the product. How much per plant or row. How often to apply. I put some on top of soil and some I mixed in. Sparingly.. So far I have no flies I'm wondering if it has anything to do with spreading it around. I need more time to experiment I guess. I think I will use in my yard since I have so much. I grow a 100 ft x14 foot garden. Theres not alot of info out there on the product. But I will keep searching.

I’ve been using this blend a few cycles now… between this and some beneficial insects, I haven’t had a gnat in months. Of course the pieces are chunky and hard. I use a coffee grinder and break it up nice like I would with the gnarly barley. It has a sweet pleasant smell. The plants never seem to mind it. Just like all the other products from BAS I load into my earth boxes…. This stuff is top notch! You should definitely get this . So nice to hang out in the tent without gnats buzzing you!

I'm really really liking the fact that I've only had a few slugs and snails! In the PNW they're a real problem and while I did do beer traps for the last few years, always use DE, and have a gopher living in my raised bed munching on them, since I introduced these pellets they've been absent enough that I've been able to grow lettuce and kale from seed this time. And no caterpillars on my sole pea! I also haven't seen ANY cabbage moths. I will definitely buy this again!

great additive for N and lots of mycelium on top of soils.

So far so good my gnat population is down using this along with mustard seed mill. Has a nice MPK good for top dressing.

I will continue to purchase the neem and karanja mix. The gnats don't like it and it helps to break their life cycle when combined with neem IPM sprays. This is my 2nd bag and I will buy more when I run low.

I noticed an immediate change after adding to the top few inches of soil! It really helps if you’ve made the mistake of overwatering, and unintentionally invited them into your garden! Fungus gnats avoid this stuff like the plague! It makes the soil so inhospitable that they will start trying to reproduce somewhere other than your soil! Now I add to soil before filling fresh pots just in case I make the mistake of overwatering again!

Great mix of cake and meal. Has hardly any smell, even up close. They are shredded and extruded like hops or rabbit food. Would have preferred a 30/70 mix as mentioned by Coots in his episode of the KIS podcast, but this is great product anyway.

It must be working well, zero issues using build a soil products in my system. Pairs well with all other products.

pretty much everything from B.A.S. is top notch and has led to noticeable results. This stuff here though blew me away! Added to my transplant/top dress regimen with co wo co castings, kashi and insect frags. The plants absolutely love this stuff! Most vigorous, lush, healthy growth I've ever had and the stems, the stems on new seedlings beef up major, so stoked I gave this product a try!

Got my shipment of neem and katanga quickly. Will order again.

Love neem & Karanja as a pretty balanced food source for plants. Always see the fungal blooms after I apply it and the pest control properties are awesome

The Neem and Karanja mix the second time around still gets the "gold". All the plants that have received this mix are thriving. My wife and I are very pleased with the results and have recommended the mix to friends and family. I'm also looking at other products and won't hesitate to try something different as well. Thumbs up and more!!

Piled on and topped with some worm castings and watched the magic fuzz happen. Still smells like neem although not as pungent as straight neem cake

Ipm incorporated into your soil mixes!! Add this to every mix, as well as top dressing. Worms crave this stuff

My worms go crazy for this stuff. Its beneficial in so many ways from pest management to nitrogen supplement.

Another great product from Buildasoil - I make up a living coco/promix media and wanted to integrate a gentle nitrogen additive that would be an important part of my pest control system. Mixing this into the top layer of my media has helped keep the gnats away from the plants as well as complements and supplements other nitrogen sources.
