Get much better responses from your plants really hit the genereative and vegatative ques much easier. Dont have to worry about over/ under water. Being able to monitor from wireless is awesome too. I use them with 5 gal pots and they work greAt!

These really help to save me the hassle of checking my pots daily during periods of rapid growth when sometimes they need watered every 2 days vs 3 days. I'm not lazy but I am in a w/c - therefore, it's a hassle to check the moisture daily, lol. Now I can just look at my phone app! Of course I still peek in on them....but at least I don't have to stick each pot every day! The last order was a 2 pack but I don't see that listed now.

Liking this so far. Now I just need to get the deep soil sensor so that I can get a more accurate picture of the soil moisture.

I think these are helping. I seemed to be severely overwattering. Plants look much healthier. But it's early time will tell.

So far they do exactly what I expected them to do. It's kind of obvious which plants drink more, but it's nice to verify what's going on with these. It's also nice if you're forgetful and can't remember if you watered yesterday or the day before, or maybe the day before that. Would be nice to see how these work compared to or alongside the deeper soil models.

I found out that I was underwatering my plants immediately after installing and my current run is going to be my biggest yield so far. Highly recommend if you are wanting to dial in your watering

My moisture sensor with it's own display works perfectly. The only exception is when a worm comes in contact with the sensor. A worm reads right at 72% moisture. Just pick up and move it a little and the problem is solved.

I decided to try the Blumat moisture meter for $90 and after purchasing i realized that all it does is give me a moisture reading but no data to look at and compare like the Ecowitt WH51 does. So, I cancelled that order and bought the Ecowitt WH51 sensors and WiFi Gateway so I can track the moisture from wherever I am in the world as well as get alerts when moisture levels get below the indicated level. I know that Jeremy recommends to keep the moisture between 25 and the 45%, but at 25% I still had plenty of moisture towards the middle and lower half of the pot because I also have these cheap XLUX meters that are surprisingly very accurate and very close-effective but there is no data that gets recorded. So whenever both my pots got to 25% I checked with my XLUX meter and like I said the middle and the lower half of the pot still had plenty of moisture in them so for me it looks like 20% is when it's time to water my plants. So for me the target is 35%, but I have my alerts set up for 22% and once it gets the 22% I get an email and a notification message in the app letting me know that the soil reached 22% moisture level. Very useful, however, for my 20 gallon pots that are 15 in tall I just can't see these sensors being useful like the XLUX new model the 16-in long probe which I also purchased but after speaking to Ecowitt a couple of days ago on November 2nd 2023 they told me that there is a new WH51L model coming out with a 1 meter long cable/probe sometime in November. I asked them for a specific date when they will be available for sale but they did not respond. I asked them if it's going to be a 1 meter probe like they have now that's 5 in but one meter would be excessively long and they responded saying that it's not going to be the same probe but it will be a wire that we can put on whatever depth we like and any extra wire that wasn't used can just hang over the side of the pot. I asked them if the current model WH51 would be good enough for my 20 gallon pots but they responded saying that the new model WH51L would be perfect and I should be looking out for it this month.

Unreliable and glitchy. Started out ok but then the meters started giving off random readings and even said the soil was at 35 for a week straight when I came in to find a plant completely wilted because the soil was bone dry. Can’t make adjustments/calibrations to the meters without having a math degree and understanding calculus to read the formula in the manual. No longer trust any of the meters to give an accurate reading.

I added 4 more Ecowitt Sensors to my grow tents. I had an original set of 4 with the gateway. It handles up to 8 sensors. They are great a monitoring my soil moisture from anywhere on my phone. I think these are Great.

The Ecowitt moisture meters seem to be working great. I found out I was giving a little too much water before I started using the Ecowitt. Really helped during end of stretch when watering really slows down.

Life (Plants and ME) saving little sensors. I started with 2 plus the gateway obviously and now I've got 8 total. Using them with each of my ladies inside and using some outside with my tomatoes etc... Very helpful experiment I did with one of the sensors over a week or so. I took some 3.0 soil and just stuck the sensor in about a 1/2 gallon size Tupperware. You really learn what 25% and or what 35% 'moisture' actually FEELS after dumping the soil out. Now I have way more confidence in how long I can let the girls etc go between waterings!!

Takes the guesswork out of watering living soil, you can dial in the exact amounts you need for a specific plant/cultivar...and the graphs are great for tracking how much/fast the plants are drinking. The alarm feature is great, especially for a lazy gardener like me. I can just wait to be notified when the moisture is below my target range, no more stressing about under/over watering. I set up a reservoir with a submersible pump plugged into a kasa smart plug so I can water from wherever I am when I get the alert.

The initial setup can be a little frustrating but being able to get a reading of soil moisture levels can be crucial for vigorous growth. I am typically a bit cautious about overwatering and as a result end up under-watering. This tool provides me more confidence with how much I water.

Would be perfect for smaller containers. Love the app and all the info. Wish the soil probe was a bit longer or would go deeper into 30 gallon or larger containers. Hopefully Ecowitt will design another model for larger containers.

Fairly easy to setup and a pretty powerful piece of technology for the garden. Been keeping the moisture between 25-38% and the plants are doing great. About 1.5 months into using the moisture sensors and no complaints. One AA battery and still nearly fully charged.
