Ive been making my own soil for well over a decade now. Ive always used a crustacean meal or crab meal as apart of my mix. This is THEE best crustacean meal.

I love this stuff. I always add it. Just make sure you wear your mask with it.

Just opening the bag almost smells like a water ecosystem.

It's an excellent soil amendment.

But customer service is better. UPS delivered a stinky box with crustacean meal leaking through. I guess the bag broke during transit. Called up build a soil and they sent a replacement immediately, i think I got it a few days later. I didn’t notice until now that they refunded the cost of the item. I really appreciated that especially when I might have been a little pissed off over the phone. Apologies. Honorable company.

I dont dislike anything about it super great smell when I mixed it in the water love the ocean that's the smell thank you my plants love it

Smell reminds me of my local Galveston Bait and Tackle shop. i used this and add a little extra to the craft blend.

Just started using as a top dress. So far so good. Smells like the ocean!

Made a top dress mix with this for flower to help assist in chitin exchange - definitely gotta let it cook imo. The mix stunk like straight up sewage for the first couple days & went super hot. After a couple days that fresh earth smell started coming out. Let it rock for 2 weeks then applied. A1 crustacean meal - none better

Always fresh smells like the ocean from BAS. I put it in new soil mixes and top dress with it both.

I used this in a mix to re-amend a few 20 gallon fabric pots for their second cycle. Great quality product with a nice blend of smaller and larger chunks.

Once you open the bag you can smell the goodness in it! I love using this as soil conditioner and top dress. You will notice a difference in your plants.

Crab and Shrimp Neal. Provides good nitrogen and phosphorus. And what makes it truly special is the chitin. Great product!!!

Crustacean meal is my go to top dress. Seems to deter ants and fungus gnats also

might wanna bury this about 5 to 6 inches into the soil before planting or even if adding into a potted plant as an amendment cause it may attract hungry rodents if they are outdoor plants. But my soil is bursting with life now with this amendment.

Another of the inputs to Coots mix, wouldn't get anywhere else, only Buildasoil.com.

Great stuff! A little slow to work but very effective!

I like that the mix is determined by time of year, ensures a fresher more quality product. I've recently heard controversies about malted barley grain (MBG) working just as well. I have not researched the science behind the differences, but plan to investigate.

Great Product, love this company.

I have nematodes very badly in my soil. They wreak havoc with everything and strangle the life out of my tomato plants. The crustacean shells have worked wonderfully in controlling this issue, and I add more each year to keep the nematodes in check.

These guys are the best . They have the best products out there and even better costumer service. Every question I've thrown their way they have had a solution for.
