Using the Blumat 9” carrot with a 5gallon bucket gravity fed system is working very well in a 15 gallon pot of living soil. I set it up just like the unmarked carrots, setting the hanging drip, then rotated clockwise to the red line (blue is for pressurized systems) and it has worked perfect since installed. I am using an Ecowit moisture monitoring system to keep an eye on how well it is working. Since it has been installed, I have not had any issues, just keep the reservoir full.

The marks are really handy and make the process pretty quick. One thing though is on all of the pre marked ones, the cap being screwed down on the hose created a kink in it. I had to unscrew each cap and pull the line out to pop the kink. After that I got water pressure in all my rings. Using a gravity system with a 32 gallon reservoir if that helps any. Seemed like it was 4 rotations of the cap for it to come off.

The extra cost associated with having these items precalibrated is without question worth the investment. I have used the 5" carrots and had to calibrate them myself. This process was quite time consuming and took me a number of days to really dial in the watering ring. Not having to do this again with the 9" carrots was amazing. Additionally, I am currently using a gravity fed system and my confidence is quite high that I could easily adjust the pressure quickly if I upgraded to a pressurized system.
